Return of the wordcount

I've decided to do Nanowrimo this year, which means writing a 50,000 word draft of a novel in November (it's another excuse to put off jobhunting). This will be extra challenging as I'm away for nearly a week early on in the month and won't be taking a laptop. Let's hope I manage it because if I fuck this up it will probably be the final straw.

  1. A thriller set in the Parc des Expositions? How about middle aged cards executive, enraged by annual RER strike, who goes postal in the middle of a talk about Global Platform 2.1.1 specifications?

Or how about a story about a handsome and dashing business development guy who murders his Commercial Director for continually insisting that he attend an exhibition about smart cards?

When I see you, I'll tell you one or two stories from the last conference I went to, in Vegas, that really _should_ be in a novel and could be part of a magnificent narrative tapestry in the hands of someone more skilled than me!
